The Story
The first Heat Explorer was a Three Kings sampler: a pusher, three vials of salt at different grinds, a vial of extract and a tasting spoon. It did its job and it is retired. The lineup has grown since then and the question I get most is which one to try first. The honest answer is all of them, so this is the box for that question. Six varieties, full-size refill pouches, nothing miniature. Give it to someone who likes heat and let them find their own favorite, or keep it and work through the lineup yourself.

How It's Made
Every pouch in the box is the same small-batch salt we sell on its own: Ghost, Scorpion and Reaper peppers, meticulously extracted, blended and tempered in our proprietary infusion, carried by natural solar-evaporated sea salt, then finished per variety with pineapple essence, yuzu and shiitake, Tennessee bourbon and bitters, or Datil pepper and Madagascar vanilla.

What's in the box

  • Three Kings (50g, heat 3/5): Solar-evaporated sea salt infused with Ghost, Scorpion and Reaper peppers. The original and the everyday carry.
  • Hotter Stuff (25g, heat 4/5): Three Kings turned up to six. Same flavor, significantly higher potency. A slow, building heat that ramps to a heavy, permeating burn.
  • Pineapple Express (25g, heat 3/5): Three Kings infused with pineapple essence. A subtle tropical aroma that elevates everything it touches. The cocktail and cooking king-maker.
  • Yuzu (25g, heat 3/5): Yuzu, shiitake, rice vinegar and turmeric with the Three Kings. Bright, tart, savory, and unlike anything you have tasted.
  • Snake Eater (25g, heat 4/5): Tennessee Bourbon and bitters with Ghost, Scorpion and Reaper. Aromatic notes of tobacco and the mellow sweet bite of an old fashioned.
  • Vanilla Heat (25g, heat 1/5): Datil pepper and pure Madagascar Vanilla with our signature trio. Mild heat, smooth finish, warm vanilla softness.

How long does it last? Each press of the pusher delivers about 33mg of Hot Salt. That makes the six pouches in this box good for well over 5,000 presses. It will last months, and for most people years. It is a lot of salt, a lot of flavor and a lot of flexibility.

The coarse sea salts we use are natural unprocessed sea-salts made by solar evaporation of brine and are not iodized. They are refined by washing with clean saturated salt brine to remove surface impurities, drained of excess moisture, dried, and screened to size.
